BLANCE DNA

In early 2004 a number of Blance descendants (Blance men whose grandfathers, great grandfathers, etc. had come from Shetland) began to have their y-chromosome DNA tested in order to determine the most likely geographical origin of the Blance surname. At this writing (September 2004) all three Blance men who have been tested show a clear Norse pattern.
